Comic-Con 2013 Beyond the Con!

Hello all, so Comic-Con was a blast here’s a breakdown of how it all went, beginning with Preview Night and Day One

Beyond the Con

So some of you may be wondering why I’m not starting with Comic-Con 2013 at the con itself. Well it’s how I started my blur of a Con experience this year, and after some excellent crowdsourcing via Facebook I agreed with my friends that the best way to go about blogging about all the fun that was had, was to go about it chronologically. If you’re reading this after everything is up feel free to skip to DAY 3, which was my Hall H day, which was probably the peak of the con this year.

So Preview night found us at the “Under the SDCC” Party hosted by The San Diego Comic-Con Unofficial Blog and was sponsored by Vita Coco, which made me happy I LOVE coconut water, and it was what I’d brought along to stay hydrated. The party was (like nearly everything at the con) a bit crowded but fun!

The next day we spent it all outside, starting the morning with some Dutch and Predator Cos-play!

Unfortunately, we very quickly felt less than comfortable in our costumes, and so we changed into regular clothes

All of our fun was spent across Harbor Drive visiting the huge NBC set up, which included 3 main points of interest, The Dracula exhibit (which was way less scary than I thought it would be, The Blacklist exhibit, (which was way less interesting than I thought it would be, but we got a bag) and the Revolution exibit (which was way awesomer than I thought it would be).

Why I haven't already been watching a show with Giancarlo Esposito and Elizabeth Mitchell I have no idea!

It featured a place where people could hang out, and charging stations for people’s devices! Not only was it a relief to several con-goers, who often spend time (as we did at one point on Friday) sitting or standing along walls with outlets, because all of the photo taking and posting can drain a battery quickly, but it tied amazingly with the theme of Revolution, which is power based, so kudos to NBC for some quality marketing, I now want to watch the show!

We also spent some time right near Petco Park (where Nerd HQ was taking place – I SO want to be there next year!) We took photos at the Walking Dead display,

as well as photos of Justice League customized cars

Finally the last exhibit we visited was for Enders Game, which featured pieces of actual sets, which is always fun.

Also on the way out, we snagged a photo with a Headless Horseman! More on this in Friday’s blog on a new show Sleepy Hollow!

Did you spend any con time outside of the convention center?
